Support

Supporting Payne Institute Researchers

The Payne Institute is a unifying force and hub for interdisciplinary research. Our scholars come from across the Colorado School of Mines community, as well as across other major research institutions. We support their research by leveraging Mines funding for maximum impact, helping projects compete for outside funding and connecting ideas to action by engaging decision-makers.In this way, we support researchers from multiple disciplines as they join forces to study issues related to earth resources, energy, and the environment.

Engaging Decision-Makers

Business, government and NGO leaders turn to the Payne Institute for unbiased scientific data, policy analysis, and cutting-edge decision-support tools. We connect research to action, informing development of policy and management practices and convening top scholars, experts and leaders on key issues associated with earth resources, energy, and the environment. Public- and private-sector leaders looking to better understand and use science and innovation to address complex earth resource issues can read our articles, access our working paper series, and collaborate with our scholars and experts in the area of policy analysis for earth, energy, and environment. This increases the role of science in decision-making and leads to better policies and management practices.

Mines@150

In 2024, the year of our 150th anniversary, we will celebrate Colorado School of Mines’ past, present and possibilities. By celebrating and supporting the Campaign for MINES@150 you will help elevate Mines to be an accessible, top-of-mind and first-choice for students, faculty, staff, recruiters and other external partners. When you give, you are ensuring Mines becomes even more distinctive and highly sought-after by future students, alumni, industry, and government partners over the next 150 years. We look forward to celebrating Mines’ sesquicentennial with you and recognizing the key role you play in making the MINES@150 vision a reality through your investments of time, talent and treasure.  See more about the @Mines150 celebration here.
