Please join the Mines Global Energy Future Initiative and the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines as we welcome Peter B. Kelemen, Arthur D. Storke Memorial Professor, Columbia University, presenting a live seminar titled Carbon Mineralization for CO2 Removal from Air and Permanent Storage at the Gigaton Scale on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 3:00pm – 4:00pm (MT). A reception will follow.
Peter Kelemen studies the chemical and physical processes of reaction between fluids and rocks. His primary focus is on geologic capture and storage of C02 (CCS), and reaction-driven cracking processes in natural and engineered settings, with application to CCS, the global carbon cycle on Earth & Mars, geothermal power generation, hydrocarbon extraction, in situ mining.
