Please join the Mines Integrated CCUS Initiative and the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines for a Colorado Carbon Capture Use and Sequestration (CCUS) Task Force Virtual Public Engagement Session on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM MT.
In 2019, Colorado adopted goals of reducing greenhouse gas pollution by 26 percent by 2025, 50 percent by 2030, and 90 percent by 2050 from a 2005 baseline. As part of the near-term actions in its Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap, Colorado identified the development & utilization of a Task Force as an important step to better understand the role that carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) can play in meeting the state’s emissions targets. Members of the task force represent government, industry, academic and nonprofit groups in Colorado. Public input and community engagement is a critical component of the report development process.
The CCUS Task Force is also soliciting public comment on the draft recommendations on the publicly accessible website: State of Colorado CCUS Task Force Website
Draft recommendations will be available for review the week of October 25th. Please use the site and listening session to provide public comment and feedback.
