Please join the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines as we welcome Dr. Gregory Brew, Postdoctoral Fellow, Jackson School of Global Affairs, Yale University, presenting a virtual seminar titled Petroleum and Progress in Iran: Oil, Development, and the Cold War on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Dr. Gregory Brew will discuss his new book, which explores the oil history of Iran, the role of oil in U.S.-Iranian relations during the Cold War, and the connection between the global development movement and the creation of the Iranian “petro-state.” Through an exploration of these themes, Brew will draw connections between the energy crises of the Cold War era and the current problems facing the global energy economy.
