Please join the Mines Global Energy Future Initiative and the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines as we welcome J.W. Postal, CEO & Founder at Nikola Power, presenting a webinar titled Mitigating Climate Change with Artificial Intelligence on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 9:00am – 10:00am (MT).
Study after study shows volatile weather is our future. While the ideal fix is halting climate change that doesn’t immediately help those in California and other states facing power outages resulting from damaged infrastructure or rolling brownouts. Now imagine if there was fossil fuel-free solution where artificial intelligence synthesizes hundreds of data points (including weather) to economically and efficiently power homes collaboratively with solar and that could seamless run independent from the utility in emergency situations.
J.W. is an experienced solar executive responsible for development of 200+ MW of solar energy projects, having co-founded Main Street Power, a distributed solar development firm acquired by AES Corp. A two-time elected board member of The Colorado Solar and Storage Association (COSSA), he is heavily involved in Colorado and national solar & storage policy. J.W. is a graduate of the University of Colorado and has a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University.
