Please join Payne Institute Senior Research Associate Sara Hastings-Simon, David Keith, and Ed Whittingham, on the Energy vs. Climate podcast on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00p.m. MT as they discuss their op-ed, “The Oil Sands Fundamentals are Dire and Stark – and Canada Shouldn’t Spend to Revive a Dying Dream” that clearly touched a nerve, garnering 800+ comments. They will tackle some of the points they raised in the op-ed, including the role of the oil sands in the economic future of the province, COVID-19 as a factor in peak oil, the dynamics of oil markets, and the risks in focusing on net zero oil moonshots. They will debate some of the feedback they’ve received from a range of sources and take viewer questions.
