Please join the Payne Institute for Public Policy at the Colorado School of Mines as we welcome Dr. Neil Fromer, Executive Director, Programs, Resnick Sustainability Institute, California Institute of Technology, presenting a webinar titled Decarbonizing Industrial Production on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm (MT).
Industrial emissions represent approximately 1/4 of global CO2 emissions, and along with heavy transport, represent some of the hardest emissions to curtail. I will discuss some of the reasons why these emissions are so difficult to replace, and where new approaches might make a difference. I’ll also give a short overview of research into carbon emissions reductions happening at Caltech.
Dr. Neil Fromer is the executive director in charge of programs for the Resnick Sustainability Institute at Caltech, an endowed center dedicated to developing transformational science and technology to fight climate change and promote a cleaner, healthier environment.
Dr. Fromer has dedicated his career to achieving a global impact in sustainability, with 20 years of experience in R&D and management, spanning the academic, business and policy communities. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from Brown University and a PhD in Physics from UC Berkeley.
